Dry Weather Water Testing Period Ends

New water system users will have to wait for next year

The Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services, Environmental Health Division announces that the dry weather testing period for evaluation of water quantity supplies for proposed subdivisions and residential construction was closed as of last Monday.

The testing period usually remains open until Sept. 30 of each year unless extended. This closure is implemented upon the arrival of the first typical fall/winter season rainfall event.

All parties anticipating subdividing land or developing parcels with individual or single water supplies to serve four or fewer connections should contact a qualified consultant to arrange for testing early in the dry weather test period. The applicant’s agent must certify that at least 720 gallons of water per day, for each residence can be produced.

Additional information regarding water quantity testing and water production test procedures can be obtained by calling the Humboldt County Division of Environmental Health at 445-6215 or (800) 963-9241.
