EPD Offers Harleys At Auction

Sealed bids, including 10% deposit, due by Dec. 23

The Eureka Police Department is auctioning both of their 2006 Harley Davidson Road King Police Motorcycles.

Purchased new for $12,270 each on May 18, 2006, both have about 11,000 miles and have been regularly serviced by Redwood Harley Davidson of Eureka.

The five-speed, fuel-injected 88cu/1450cc Police Model FLHPI cycles come with Harley Davidson covers and the owner manuals.

The city is accepting sealed bids for one or both motorcycles, minimum bid is $8,000 per motorcycle. A deposit for 10 percent of the bid in cash, cashier’s check or money order must be included.

Bids should be mailed or delivered to the city’s Finance Department at 531 K Street between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., although the final deadline is on Thursday, Dec. 23 at 2:00 p.m. The bids will be opened and read aloud in City Hall Room 207 shortly after.

The balance of the awarded bid is due Dec. 30; the City of Eureka reserves the right to refuse any bids.
