ARCATA -- Starting on Monday, the beginning of Finals Week at Humboldt State University, traffic snarls will tie up most of the roads and trails on the southwestern end of campus in connection with construction breaking ground for the College Creek Apartments to be located along L.K. Wood Boulevard.

According to a statement from HSU public information officer Paul Mann, traffic will be re-directed in order to install the utility connections necessary for the new dorm complex, a 434-bed facility which is scheduled to go on-line in the fall semester of 2010 with a price tag of nearly $38 million.

These traffic disruptions include the following:

- Rossow Street will be governed by controlled one-way traffic Monday, Dec. 15 through Friday, Dec. 19.

- College Walk will be closed to pedestrian and bicycle traffic commencing Monday, Dec. 22.

- Harpst Street will be closed between Rossow and L.K. Wood Boulevard from Dec. 22 through Sunday, Jan. 18.

- Harpst Street will reopen as a one lane, eastbound route between Rossow Street and L.K. Wood Boulevard on Monday, Jan. 19.

- Harpst Street between B and Rossow will remain two-way.

- Beginning Monday, December 22, three affected parking lots -- Main, Student Business Services and Gist Hall -- will have to be entered via B Street.
